The award recognises the high standards of quality and care that are provided to patients at the Kilkenny centre.
CEO of Euromedic Ireland, Mr Colm Davitt said, “The JCI standard of quality is extremely important to us in maintaining a level of trust between our patients and referrers alike. It is also important in retaining contracts with private health insurers. Renewal of the JCI accreditation means Euromedic will continue to offer high quality medical scans at competitive prices.”
The JCI quality accreditation is due for renewal every three years. In 2010, Euromedic Ireland centres in Dublin and Cork became the first stand-alone diagnostic imaging centres worldwide to receive the Standard in Ambulatory Care from the JCI. The Cork and Dublin centres have also been reaccredited for the next three years.
Mr Davitt continued, “We are delighted to have secured the JCI standard of quality for three years. The accreditation was awarded to Euromedic Kilkenny in recognition of our team’s commitment to excellence in patient care and quality following an extensive survey and audit of our procedures, policies and services.”
“This achievement is testament to our hardworking team of clinical and administrative professionals here in Kilkenny and means that provision of excellent patient care will continue across all our centres.”
Over 10,000 people have received a scan at Euromedic Kilkenny since it opened in October 2011. The most common type of scan performed is an MRI scan and patients are referred by GPs from across the South East including Kilkenny, Waterford, Tipperary and Laois.
Private Health Insurers, Aviva Healthcare and Glo Health cover the cost of MRI scans at Euromedic Kilkenny, while Laya Healthcare partially reimburse their members.
Euromedic Ireland operates four stand-alone private diagnostic imaging centres in Ireland – Euromedic Dundrum and Euromedic Northwood in Dublin, Euromedic Cork in Cork city and Euromedic Kilkenny. It also works in partnership with hospitals including Sligo General and the Ulster Independent Clinic in Belfast.
