Marketing and Public Relations for Operation Smile

Vital Communications managed the Public Relations for Operation Smile’s Student Leadership Conference 2014. The Conference was held in the University of Limerick and was attended by approximately 450 students from 22 countries.

The Conference aims to educate students on the value of service within their communities and help develop their skills as future philanthropic leaders.

Operation Smile is an international children’s charity that provides free surgery for children born with facial deformities including Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate.

Operation Smile founders, Plastic Surgeon Dr Bill Magee and his wife Kathy Magee officially opened the Conference. One of the most popular keynote speakers was Oscar-nominated and Grammy award-winning songwriter, Amir Windom who was involved in the writing of Pharrell William’s chart-topping hit “Happy”.

Vital Communications secured media coverage in a range of media for Operation Smile over the course of the week including the Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk Radio, Ireland AM on TV3, Limerick’s Live 95FM and thejournal.ie.
